Testimony

During the summer after my graduation from BYU in 1959, I participated in the Hill Cumorah Pageant in New York. It was a wonderful experience, and to know that my Dad had served in that mission in 1922, and my sister Ruth had served in the same mission in 1950, was a thrill for me! As I stood in that Sacred Grove and bore my testimony I got chills, and I still get chills today.
I knew the prophet Joseph Smith had knelt there, and our Father in Heaven and His son, Jesus Christ, had revealed to Joseph what his mission would be. I want my family and posterity to know how precious my testimony is of the truthfulness of the gospel. My wish is for them to always stay close to our Savior and follow His guidance through the Holy Ghost. I know He has walked beside me all of my life!
How blessed I have been to have wonderful parents who taught me the love of serving through their example! I love the Book of Mormon and know it is true, along with all the scriptures! My wish is for my family to do temple work and genealogy! And to teach their precious children how much the Lord loves them!
I love music and reading, and hope they will love reading, not only the scriptures but good literature. I pray that they will get a good education and always be a positive example of love and service to their fellow men. How blessed I have been these wonderful 80 years!
I pray each day that they will know how much I love each and every one of my dear children and posterity, and I know they will do great things in the church! I leave this testimony with each of you in His name, Amen.
