Craig Bartschi proposed to Pam on January 9th after returning home from his mission to Australia. They were married in the Logan Temple on February 11, 1982. Such a happy pair! Craig reported his mission on February 14th with his wife at his side. They had a beautiful blue and white reception on February 20th.

What a beautiful bride and handsome groom.

Kim started dating Pam's college roommate, Sandy Perkins, after she had written to him on his mission for a year. They were engaged later that summer, and were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on September 18, 1982.

Their reception was in Nancy and Evan Meyer's back yard. It had been raining all month, so I felt very fearful about a last minute change, but Kim reassured me it would be okay. He was right! About an hour before the reception, the sun came out and was beautiful for two hours until the reception was over. It was such a miracle, and a direct blessing from the Lord!

Kim joined the Air Force soon after, and they moved to Washington to start his career. Craig and Pam lived in Rexburg, and soon welcomed their first baby boy, Jason LeGrand Bartschi, on May 28, 1983. Our first Grandson!

Then in July we took Garry's folks back east to see the Hill Cumorah Pageant.

We left Driggs with Cindy, Craig, and Garry's parents and drove to Iowa. We stayed with Kitty and Marv Parnell, whom Garry had baptized in 1958. Don Bevan had baptized Kitty, so we felt a special bond. On the 14th of July, Marv and Kitty heard their second granddaughter was born. The next day, Kim's first daughter, Christina Bowen, was born on July 15th. So we had a special celebration over our new granddaughters.

We then traveled on to Palmyra, New York to see the pageant and the Sacred Grove. We decided to have a family prayer in the Sacred Grove, which was a very spiritual experience. We were only in New York for a day, so we went to the Smithsonian Institute and took a tour of the Lincoln Memorial. Then we came home through Nauvoo and saw Carthage Jail and toured many historical homes. We stayed overnight in Nauvoo and wished many times that our older children were with us.
We toured Becky Thatcher's home and the Huck Finn Museum, and even rode the river boat down the Mississippi by Hannibal, Missouri. We had a wonderful two week trip!
